New Zealand Wedding

Are you thinking about having a New Zealand wedding?

If you're from overseas you'll be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to organise and make arrangements for weddings in NZ.

A marriage license is normally issued 3 calendar days after the Notice of Intended Marriage form is submitted and the fee is paid.

New Zealand Destination Wedding Legal Requirements

Before the wedding you have to obtain a Marriage License, and as part of completing the application form, either you or your partner will need to make a formal statutory declaration that there is no lawful impediment to the marriage.

Marriages are performed by a registered Civil Marriage Celebrant or religious Minister and are legally binding and recognised worldwide. Still, if you do not live in NZ, you should check with the authorities in your home country to see if there are any rules that apply when you want to get married by having a destination New Zealand wedding.
