Further down this page I have provided a map of New Zealand created with Google maps.
I have provided brief instructions.
If you are already familiar with using Google maps you can quickly scroll down the page and bypass these instructions.
For a list of regions across both islands see my page on New Zealand Regions.

To navigate your way around the map that is provided further down the page, you can move the maps using these methods
If, for example, you are flying to Christchurch and intend spending the first couple of days of your holiday travelling down the east coast of the south island in a campervan (just as we did). You can zoom in to a close up of a location such as Timaru and look at the roads going through or bypassing the town. Although we landed in Christchurch early in the day so had enough time to drive a bit further south to Oamaru before nightfall, as we wanted to visit the Moeraki Boulders first thing the next morning.
Different views are available by selecting the buttons in the top right corner. Options include street level and aerial images. Experiment with these views to get more detail.
In the future I will be providing more maps that show detail of specific areas and locations, include photographs and places of interest, and will be very useful in helping you decide your travel itinerary.
Visit this page for some road maps of New Zealand that I have used and would recommend or see a list of New Zealand Regions.
