Wild Food and Drink

The kinds of wild food you will see on offer range from Possum kebabs to Venison, Whitebait to Huhu Grubs, wild pig, and a range of meats that you may not have tasted before such as alligator and kangaroo.

There is also a beer tent on the festival site along with one or two other drinks stalls where you can taste something different.

There is live music all day at the Hokitika Wild foods Festival from buskers to the NZ Army Band.

Feral Fashion Contest

Every year many Hokitika festival goers take part in the Feral Fashion contest by dressing up in whatever they like, to look as wild as they can. If you fancy dressing up for the occasion and entering the coopetition you can get some ideas online with the hashtag #‎WearYourWild. Have a look on Pinterest.
